(Not under parts as parts lists the actual parts, and not really (this is kind of borderline) in mechanics for the same reason as for mountains. I think it's best to just put this under Resources. It's a page about it's own category so it should probably belong to it.)

Resources are things you use to craft items or build with. Resources sometimes may be used for weaponry, for example Sulfur becomes mustard gas or explosives.

Resources are the main components of nearly every item in Waste of Space. They are mainly used as ingredients in recipes when crafting the items needed to play the game.
This is a list of most resources:

In the crafting menu (V), Resources, which is a button in the menu, is a category tab that lets you see the list of parts, most of which are able to be obtained from ore deposits by either clicking on them with the Pickaxe or using extractors or MiningLasers, and some can only be obtained through other processes (For example, to obtain Glass you need to smelt it in a Kiln).
==Spawn planet resources==
These resources are resources found/crafted on spawn planets, and do not need space travel to acquire.
* Iron - an incredibly important part for building and crafting.
* Copper - The most important, as its needed for electricity, your base should be near a copper supply.
* Coal - Used for burner generators and steam power.
* Stone - A rather useful early game building material. Used in some crafting recipes.
* Quartz - A material mined randomly from rocks, used in many electronics.
* Sulfur - Used to make PowerCells, which are needed to make the Ion rocket.
* Ruby - Used for building and some advanced crafting recipes.
* Flint - A useful material mined from rocks. Very useful for starting fires early game.
* Silicon - Used for many electronic and wiring-related parts.
* Helium - Mined from Stone randomly.
* Water - Used for steam power, cooling, and a few crafting recipes.
* Oil - Used for many different forms of power and some crafting recipes, comes from stone.
* Oxygen - A gas, not very useful yet.
* Stick - Harvested from trees; not very useful on its own, but can be used to craft.
* Wood - A basic resource used in some crafting recipes and for basic structures.
* Rubber - Very useful for crafting and building. Has multiple special properties.
* Magnesium - A part used in crafting and fire-making. Burns very bright, but doesn't last long.
* Snow - Can be melted into Water.
* Ice - A solid block of ice. Used for physical machines.
* Sand - A pile of Sand. Not useful on its own, however it can be turned to Glass using a Kiln.
* Glass - Made of sand, very useful for building and a few crafting recipes.

==Resources==
== Out-of-world resources ==
This is a list of resources that are part of the category tab named "Resources" in the craft menu.
These resources are resources that are off world, and require space travel to acquire, making them more difficult to obtain than spawn planet resources
* Uranium - Used for reactors, quite useful and toxic to humans nearby.
* Aluminum - Used for ion drives and other technology. Very malleable, making it useful for larger structures.
* Diamond - A rare gem used in lasers and certain other advanced recipes.
* Hydrogen - Comes from stars. Used in advanced applications.
* Jade - A rare gem used in several high-level recipes.
* Gold - Rare and used in DarkConvertors/Reactors.
* Titanium - Used in dark convertors/reactors, and is very strong, making it useful for armor.

The following resources are found on most planets:

* Iron - An incredibly important part for building and crafting.
* Copper - One of the most important parts, as it is needed for wires. Your base should be near a copper supply.
* Coal - Used for burner generators and boilers to make Power.
* Water - Can be made into steam to generate Power, obtained by using a Pump submerged in water or melting Ice.
* Stone - A early game building material. It is used to make Templates and Rubber.
* Sand - Can be turned to Glass by using a Kiln or burning it.
* Snow - Can be melted into Water.

The following resources that randomly appear from harvesting mountains (Stone Deposits). The only resource that is always dropped after harvesting is stone, and others can be randomized to one appearing at a time:

* Quartz - Used for many electronics.
* Sulfur - Used for many weapons. It is also useful for making PowerCells

==Randomly generated resources==
Materials that are not in the list of the craft menu are called "Randomly generated resources" or "Custom resources".
These resources are exclusive to the planet they generated on. All planets except for Earthlikes will have these materials, and a planet can only have one random material.
The resources will have random properties, ranging from non-malleable and brittle, to stretchier and harder than most resources, while others could be radioactive or even explode on contact with other resources.
Some of these properties can be known the name are searched up in the help menu when the player is at the planet the resource is generated on.

This article is talking about resources, see this category for the list .

Resources are the main components of nearly every item in Waste of Space. They are mainly used as ingredients in recipes when crafting the items needed to play the game.

Resources[edit | hide all | hide | edit source]

This is a list of resources that are part of the category tab named "Resources" in the craft menu.

Common Resources[edit | hide | edit source]

The following resources are found on most planets:

Randomly generated resources[edit | hide | edit source]

Materials that are not in the list of the craft menu are called "Randomly generated resources" or "Custom resources". These resources are exclusive to the planet they generated on. All planets except for Earthlikes will have these materials, and a planet can only have one random material. The resources will have random properties, ranging from non-malleable and brittle, to stretchier and harder than most resources, while others could be radioactive or even explode on contact with other resources. Some of these properties can be known the name are searched up in the help menu when the player is at the planet the resource is generated on.

Known random resource effects:

• Radioactivity
