Page improvement agenda
This page should be split up into more logical sections. It should first outline what programming is and the absolute most basic facts about it in waste of space, then split into (and don't forget to also write a short paragraph about what and for who each of these paragraphs are):
- Parts - programming-related parts and what they do, with their names being links to pages. Should start with a list of them with basic descriptions (so e.g. someone trying to find that one part they need can do so quickly), and should then include a more detailed paragraph about how they all fit together
- Tutorials - programming tutorials. should be sorted from easiest to hardest, ideally so an absolute beginner can learn some basic programming from the wiki, and ideally through useful projects. it MUST also introduce the reader to effective documentation searching because RTFM is to date the most effective solution to programming woes.
- Resources. By the end of the tutorial the (hypothetical) reader will have been introduced to documentation searching. Perfect time to introduce said documentation to them. This is also valuable for more experienced reader who don't feel like bookmarking the pages themselves (for whatever reason, or they forgot to previously). Make sure to also add learning resources for beginners.
- Examples - a list of useful examples with source code (and perhaps model code). this should be used to share useful, commonplace code (e.g. autoreactors).
I'll try to begin this article rewrite (well, close enough. there will probably be considerable recycling from this previous version) as soon as I can. I've written this agenda here however so you may begin yourself. Already just paragraphing it correctly should be a good step in the right direction. --Axenori (talk) 20:13, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
