Ocean planets are planets whose surface is entirely covered with oceans.

Despite mostly having hospitable conditions, they are difficult to traverse and inhabit due to the buoyancy and opacity of water. Both of these challenges can be overcome by building out an enclosed space. A ScubaMask can also help with visibility.

Deep below their surface is the planet's seabed. It contains varying terrain and no vegetation, with occasional ore deposits.
Mountainous areas on the seabed are usually clumped together into "Islands", which hold most of the planet's resources. As such they are an ideal spot for establishing a submarine base or mining operation.

Due to most players choosing more habitable planet types and the difficulty of traversing water, ocean planets can make great hiding places.
