You can roam around the planet and harvesting anything from trees to mountains, but you should mainly '''look for sticks and stones first'''. The first thing you want to craft first is a '''hammer''', a useful tool that allows you to resize and adjust parts to your needs. After doing so, you will want to build a base first near deposits such as '''iron and copper.''' Using your newfound hammer tool, you can make a simple wooden or aluminum box. Put a '''spawn-point''' inside the base, it will be useful as every time you die you will spawn inside your base.

Welcome to Waste Of Space! This is an open world massive multiplayer sandbox game, where the whole universe is your sandbox! The possibilities are endless, from building battleships in ocean worlds to constructing Dyson rectangles spheres around stars harvesting energy!

However, you must learn the basics first before diving deep into it. You will notice that when spawning for the first time, you spawn in an alien world with trees and oceans. This is called a Terra planet, and many players will spawn in Terra planets to be given a chance to progress through the game.

Basic Controls / Tools / GUI

On the bottom of your screen, you are given 3 tools to play with:

    • The fist tool, used to engage players in fist fights and to interact with parts, such as glass.
    • The grab tool, used to grab objects and move them around, a core component of the game's building system.
    • The harvest tool, used to harvest natural resources from your surroundings.
    • The hammer tool, used to resize, surface, connect, paint, and configure certain parts and objects, and is a core component of the game's building system, as is the grab tool.

On the left of your screen, you will notice a side menu which contains five buttons. Each button is bound to a key, but the keys can be edited from the options menu (located at the bottom left). Listed in order from top to bottom:

    • Help - Serves as a reference for your game play, and gives you information on parts and tutorials for specific tasks.
    • Craft - A menu that allows you to craft all the parts in the game. It can also be used to grab minerals from bins. It can be substituted by using the /c command (ex. /c Extractor)
    • Lock - Locks and unlocks parts, giving you access to the locking system. A part locked by you means it can only be dragged and edited by you and no one else. This also means that you cannot drag nor edit other parts locked by other people. Unlocked parts however can be dragged by everyone else. A loose part will be deleted if it isn't locked. You can also do Self Lock, which also disallows you to interact with parts that you have locked until you turn off the option.
    • Trash - Destroys parts and leaves no trace of it at all. Can only be done on unlocked parts, even if self lock is off.
    • Model Builder - Loads in models from the external place known as the model builder. Simply put in the model code, have the required resources, and your model will automatically be spawned.

    Constructing A Base

You can roam around the planet and harvesting anything from trees to mountains. You will want to build a base first near deposits such as iron, copper, and coal. Using your hammer tool, you can make a simple wooden or aluminum box. Put a spawn-point inside the base, it will be useful as every time you die you will spawn inside your base. You can also use a cloning bay to mark a spot to spawn on that no matter where you die in the universe, you can always teleport back to it.

Congratulations! You have built your first base, one of many structures inside the waste of space universe! Be wary of hostiles though, and make sure to only show your coordinates to people you trust, as someone may come knocking on your door with warheads and explosives. This covers the simple tools and interface, but does not cover other things such as factory building, boat building, plane building, space ship building, and other important parts in the game.
