Gas Giants are massive planets with a gaseous composition. They have extreme conditions.
Gas Giants are huge planets made up entirely of gases. They are uninhabitable, and often pose an extreme risk to anyone or anything entering them. Their size and relative lack of use lend them perfectly to hosting space stations around them. Most gas giants usually have a frigid temperature, making the players die easily if they enter gas giants. The heater or cooler is used for spaceships are advised to enter Cold/Hot gases safely.

Gas giant's extreme conditions (often around ±300 °F) make them almost impossible to inhabit. Gas giants also lack land and resources. This makes establishing a base within one, while not strictly impossible, often not worth the effort. This very fact, however, means they make ideal (albeit most likely temporary) hiding places for high security structures as raiders will very rarely, if ever, check the interior of gas giants.
Unlike other planets, gas giants have no "world" within them; that is, they do not have a large plane with features on it as most other worlds do. They have very few usable resources, making them less useful to explore. As previously mentioned, they are far more useful when used to host space stations in their orbit. Inside gas giants, there are no surface ground for spaceships to land on, they're completely covered with clouds.
Despite having no land gas giants are not completely featureless. Their interior is filled with gas clouds which obscure view. These clouds can not be harvested for gas.
They often have rings. As rings are proportional to a planet's size, the rings of gas giants are often huge.
Large planetary and ring sizes make gas giants suitable spots for ring bases and orbiting space stations.

    Features

Gas giant's extreme conditions (often around ±300 °F) make them almost impossible to inhabit. Gas giants also lack land and resources. This makes establishing a base within one, while not strictly impossible, often not worth the effort. This very fact, however, means they make ideal (albeit most likely temporary) hiding places for high security structures as raiders will very rarely, if ever, check the interior of gas giants.
