Bricks are intended to be a non - costly building material in the game that is used for many structures like brick houses or ash block buildings. Durability doubles when anchored on a planet as described in the description. Despite its supposed inexpensiveness, it is a PAIN to construct production facilities for. Its malleability is only 4,000 as well, as opposed to iron's 15,000. It is also less durable than iron, even when welded to a planet's surface. It also is produced with water, stone, and sand, at a rate of one of each of those items to one brick item. It also can only be crafted using an assembler as it has water (a fluid) in its crafting recipe, necessitating that it be put in a bin. FURTHERMORE, it also cannot be extracted from bins in the same way that you would extract iron or copper from a bin (that being by "crafting" it). You need to use a dedicated dispenser attached to its bin. All in all, these qualities make bricks completely and utterly useless for anything outside of 1. decoration where the material is strictly necessary, and 2. entertaining the idea of "the funny".

    In-game description

"A cheap material made from baked clay useful for building houses. Its durability doubles when anchored on a planet."

    Notes

    • The Brick is primarily ornamental, though it can also serve as a cheap form of shielding against players or aliens in combat for the people that are unknown to the qualities of the most common resource in the game and its superior capabilities; iron.
