    * Forest planets are instantly recognizable due to their thick forests. It goes without saying that vegetation is abundant on them
    * They are split into several continents by what are effectively wide rivers. Low sandy shores border these rivers. The mainland is usually only slightly raised above the shores. If this is not the case, the usual result is a cliff.
    * Mountains are rare, only occasionally appearing and always being isolated. Ores are surprisingly abundant, with these planets being moderately ore-rich.
    * Forest planets always have hospitable, mild conditions.

    == Colonization ==
    Forest planets are an interesting, yet common pick. And it is not hard to see why. Their trees provide great hiding spots, their predictably mild conditions make them attractive, and despite being densely packed with trees they are rich in ores. These planets are ideal for beginners to long time players alike.

    Their only major downside is space and ease of traversal. Most ships cannot fit through the densely packed rows of trees, and cannot fly in from above either due to the branches. The trees also make larger builds impossible. This can somewhat be overcome however by spacing everything out, though this is not always ideal nor possible.

    • They are split into several continents by what are effectively wide rivers. Low sandy shores border these rivers. The mainland is usually only slightly raised above the shores. If this is not the case, the usual result is a cliff.
    • Mountains are rare, only occasionally appearing and always being isolated. Ores are surprisingly abundant, with these planets being moderately ore-rich.
    • Forest planets always have hospitable, mild conditions.

    Colonization[edit | hide | edit source]

    Forest planets are an interesting, yet common pick. And it is not hard to see why. Their trees provide great hiding spots, their predictably mild conditions make them attractive, and despite being densely packed with trees they are rich in ores. These planets are ideal for beginners to long time players alike.

    Their only major downside is space and ease of traversal. Most ships cannot fit through the densely packed rows of trees, and cannot fly in from above either due to the branches. The trees also make larger builds impossible. This can somewhat be overcome however by spacing everything out, though this is not always ideal nor possible.
