The in-game universe contains an estimated 1000 celestial bodies. The majority of these are stars, with their colour (or category: the letter they are designated with) and size (which partially depends on their colour) varying. Along with stars, black holes can be found throughout the universe.
The coordinates and type of a celestial body can be determined by using a StarMap, while more detailed information about it can only be obtained by using a telescope.
Some game mechanics (such as the base power generation rate of SolarPanels) depend on the type of the celestial body in whose solar system the player is (a player is considered to be in a celestial body's system if the universe coordinates of the sector they are in are the same as the universe coordinates the celestial body).
Rarely, a solar system may contain additional celestial bodies along with the one in it's center - which is the only one shown on a StarMap.
