Assuming you have a HyperDrive, you are now ready to build a ship! You are now ready to explore the universe and the great beyond, colonize new worlds, and set up space stations!

First, you will need a layout or a framework for your ship. It is highly recommended to use iron as the main material for your ship, as it is abundant and highly malleable, as well as durable. It doesn't have to look nice, it can just be a box. Then, set up a power system for your ship. Have a powercell, solarpanels and maybe a reactor for your ship to generate power.

After setting up the main framework for your ship, you can place an ionrocket or your ship's engines near the powercell. You should use a switch to prevent the engine from always being on. Afterwards, find a good place for the cockpit of your ship. You will need a vehicleseat, a starmap and a hyperdrive in your cockpit. The starmap is useful for visualizing the area of space around you as well as finding coordinates for the systems around you.

A video tutorial on basic ship building can be found here.

    Basic Parts

The hyperdrive is required for traveling around the universe easily. The AirSupply is necessary in order to breath oxygen in space, while the spawnpoint ensures you spawn back in your ship when you die.

You can specialize your ship to be a weapon of mass destruction, for colonization, or for both! Space combat is currently not fleshed out right now, and there are currently no incentives for war yet meaning warships are currently just a novelty instead of having a real purpose.
